Phillip Island Nature Parks · Phillip Island
Phillip Island Nature Parks' combo ticket: General Viewing at the parade on your chosen night, plus the Koala Conservation Reserve and Churchill Island Heritage Farm any time within six months. Pick it if you're driving down and want to fill the afternoon before the penguins.

The pass covers three of Nature Parks' sites. You book a date for the Penguin Parade, where you get General Viewing; the Koala Conservation Reserve and Churchill Island Heritage Farm can then be visited once each, any time within six months of that date. You show the voucher at whichever one you reach first. A guest noted the ticket worked at all three.
The maths is simple. Bought separately at the gate, General Viewing (A$34), the Koala Reserve (A$17.50) and Churchill Island (A$17.50) add up to A$69 for an adult. This pass starts at $41 in US dollars, which saves a fair bit if you'd visit all three anyway. Like the General Viewing ticket, it cancels free up to 2 days before; the official Nature Parks tickets don't.
The pass doesn't include transport, and that's the real cost: the island is 90 to 120 minutes' drive from Melbourne and no public transport reaches the parade. The other two sites close in the late afternoon (the Koala Reserve at 5:30 pm, Churchill Island at 5 pm), so on a single day you have to start early. In winter, with the penguins arriving at about 5:15 pm, it's a squeeze.
Cross the small bridge from Newhaven. The farm opens at 10 am; the 1872 homestead and gardens are worth an hour or two.
Cow milking is usually at 2:10 pm and sheep shearing at 2:30 pm. Check the day's times at the gate.
Walk the 800 m Koala Boardwalk and the 600 m Woodland Boardwalk. Last entry is 5 pm.
Drive to the parade, eat at the restaurant or café, and get to the stands an hour before the penguins.
General Viewing over Summerlands Beach. No photos after sunset.
